Want something tested? Amazon it to me. I'll scan it and put the numbers on camera.
Order it, ship it to the lab, and I put it under the XRF and the Fluoro-Spec kit. Knobs, handles, cooking surface, glaze, paint, whatever touches food or kids. You get the readings, the photos, and the video. Return it after if you want. I don't care either way.

Three steps. The only part you do is the ordering.
Order it on Amazon
Ship it to the address above. Put your Instagram handle in the gift note, or DM me the order so I know whose box it is. A package with no name is a mystery box and it waits.
I scan it
XRF on every part that matters: knobs, handles, rivets, the cooking surface, the glaze, the paint. Then the Fluoro-Spec kit on the surface to show where the lead actually sits. Usually within a few days of it landing.
You get everything
The readings, the photos of the screen, and the video. I DM them to you and the product goes into the public database so the next person can look it up.
Getting it back. Amazon's return window is usually 30 days from delivery. Easiest way: start the return on your end and pick the UPS pickup option. The pickup address is already mine because that's where it shipped, so the driver comes to the lab and I hand it over. If pickup isn't offered for your item, pick a Kohl's or UPS drop-off and send me the QR code. If you don't want it back, say so and it stays in the lab.
Hard goods. Things you can hold, that touch food or kids.
Worth sending
- Cookware. Cast iron, enameled, nonstick, the knobs and handles especially
- Dishes, mugs, bowls, anything glazed or painted
- Baby bottles, sippy cups, teethers, high chair trays
- Toys, especially painted or vintage ones
- Water bottles, thermoses, lunch boxes
- Anything you already own and are nervous about. Ship that instead of buying a new one
Check first, or send it somewhere else
- Already tested? Look it up in the lead database before you spend the money. 11,683 products are in there
- Food, spices, supplements. XRF is the wrong tool for those. That goes to the lab through the Lead Lottery
- Baby food is already covered. 20,000+ lab results, sortable by brand and lot
- Sealed boxes of the same thing 40 other people already sent. Check the comments, someone probably beat you to it
Three other ways to get an answer.
Search by brand or product. AB 899, NYC health department, EU Safety Gate, Pure Earth, CPSC, FDA, all in one place.
The Fluoro-Spec kit shows lead on a surface in about a minute. Spray, UV light, green means lead.
My own XRF scans of pots, pans and lids, brand by brand, with the numbers.
That's it. Buy it, ship it, watch for the video.
One more time so you don't have to scroll back up.
